The Caldwell-Travis Soil and
Water Conservation District (SWCD) invites 4H kids to take part in a
poster and essay contest with the theme of “Healthy Soils are Full of
Life”. The poster contest is open to students 12 years of age and
under. The essay contest has two categories, one for students 13 and
under and one for students 14-18 years of age. Each category will have
cash awards listed on the entry forms and the top contestants will move to
higher levels that provide scholarships to the winners. Also, in the forms you will find links with more information regarding the
contests. All entries must be received by December 15, 2017.
Travis County is split between
two different Soil and Water Conservation Districts. The Caldwell-Travis
Conservation District includes Caldwell County and the southern half of Travis
County. The county is split at the Colorado River. So this contest
would only be for the kids that live south of the river in Travis or Caldwell
Counties.
