State Shooting Sport Coach Training



Join us for Shooting Sports Coach Training at the Texas 4-H Center!

Options include pistol, shotgun, archery, and rifle. Cost is $120 for Adult Leaders/Coach candidates as well as Assistant Coach candidates. On-site lodging is available. New Sizes Added for One Day 4-H Shirts



Texas 4-H has added One Day 4-H T-Shirts in the youth sizes of Small, Medium, and Large.  These all can be order through the AgriLife Bookstore (http://www.agrilifebook

GAK Camp at the Texas 4-H Conference Center




 Brand new October program. GAK (Grandparents and Kids) Camp is a brand new program coming to the 4-H Center October 21-23.  Activities will include gardening, arts and crafts, a throwback dance, a carnival, and more. GAK camp is for anyone 8 and up and is family style, so all kids must have an adult chaperone attending camp with them. For more information, please see the attached flyer or contact the Texas 4-H Center. Registration opens on September 1st.

Please note that any adults attending GAK Camp must be registered, screened volunteers through 4-H Connect.

District 1 Shooting Sports Coach Training



District 1 has scheduled a Shooting Sports Coach/Leader Training for all disciplines on October 22-23, 2016, at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research & Extension Center, Amarillo.  Registration opens September 19 on 4-H Connect.  

All registrants must be enrolled as 4-H adult volunteers on 4-H Connect and have a current Youth Protection background check.  Cost is $100/registrant which includes meals for Saturday lunch and supper, and 4-H Curriculum.  Extension personnel are welcome to attend at no charge.  Lodging will be on your own.  If you have interested adult leaders, please encourage them to enroll on Connect  as soon as it reopens.

Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo



The Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo ( www.brazosvalleyfair.com) will be conducted October 21-23, 2016. It will be an exciting and fun-filled 3-day event consisting of multiple jackpot shows for cattle (steers and heifers), swine, sheep and goats as well as an open Brahman show. As far as entertainment, Jason Boland and the Stragglers will perform Friday night followed by Steve Wariner on Saturday night.

For the shows, families must enter themselves online by mid-night, September 23rd (Quality Counts numbers are required). The Livestock Show Information can be accessed at http://www.brazosvalleyfair.com/p/events/livestock .

In the Junior Shows (Ring B only), a $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to the Grand Champion.
