D-10 4-H Conference

This is event is what was formerly known as the District 10 Mega Meeting. Project workshops will be conducted for youth and adults and District 10 4-H Council will conduct a business meeting. The event will take place on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic High School. For more information on the event and registration click here.

Rodeo Extravaganza

The Texas 4-H Foundation Trustees are excited to announce a new fundraising opportunity. "Rodeo Extravaganza ~ Texas 4-H Style". This raffle is to benefit the 4-H members in Texas through county program support grants, scholarships and statewide event sponsorship. Prize package includes premier rodeo tickets to major Texas rodeos beginning Fall 2012 - Spring 2013, free nights stay at hotel, $500 gift certificate, pair of 4-H boots, western hat, trophy belt buckle, Priefert calf roping chute, calf roping dummy and ropes, and 10 pairs of Wrangler jeans. Tickets are on sale now for $5.00 each. The drawing will be held in July 2012 during the Texas 4-H Horse Show in Abilene, TX. You need not be present to win. D-10 Textiles Contest

4-H youth may submit entries for the D-10 Textiles Contest. Information on this event is posted on the 4-H website at www.travis4h.com. Click on the tab "4-H Events" Scroll down until you see the information page for the Textiles Contests. Entries must be submitted via 4-H Connect by July 2nd and all items need to be at the Travis County Extension Office by noon on July 13th.

Book Drive and Nadine's Forever 39 Birthday Bash




Welcome Julie Ansley - Travis County Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent


Julie Ansley starts her career with Texas AgriLife Extension in Travis County with some familiarity to her surroundings and people in the county.  In the Fall of 2006, she started with the Travis County 4-H CAPITAL Program as the Animal Science Coordinator.  Ansley has developed curriculum to teach inner city youth about biological sciences as well as responsibility and character building.  She obtained both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from Tarleton State University in the field of Agriculture and is looking forward to serving the people of Travis County.  

Please join me in welcoming Julie to her new position. If in the office, please stop by and introduce yourself.

Youth Leadership Program - Toastmasters

Does standing before a group seem a little intimidating? If you answered yes, then you need to take advantage of the Youth Leadership Program. By participating in the three day workshop, students will learn to deliver great presentations, easily lead teams, conduct meetings, give and receive constructive evaluations,be able to speak off the cuff and learn to be a better listener.
