Teen and Adult Volunteer Help Needed!

Date: Friday, June 7
Time: 2 or 3 hour blocks of time between 10 AM and 4 PM
Place: Willie Mae Kirk Branch, 3101 Oak Springs Dr.

We need volunteers to help with the Trailblazer, a 40-foot traveling science venue! You will help kids experience all kinds of activities like a paper plane launcher, remote surgery with a robotic arm, alternative energy, aerodynamic experiments with a wind tunnel and much more. The Trailblazer is suitable for all ages, but targets 3rd-8th graders.

No science experience needed. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Science Rocks at Austin Public Library



                            Science Rocks: Hands-on STEM Fun!                                            
  Presented by Discovery Lab @ APL

Date: Friday, June 7
Time: Come anytime between 10 AM and 4 PM 
Place: Willie Mae Kirk Branch, 3101 Oak Springs Dr. 

Blast off for a day of hands-on science activities at the Austin Public Library. Get blown away by the Trailblazer, a 40-foot traveling science venue! Come experience interactive science activities with Austin Community College Hands-on Science (ACCHaoS). Make and launch airplanes. There will be plenty of things to make and take home. Come, explore and experience this exciting learning opportunity!

 Science Rocks! is a Discovery Lab program funded by the Austin Public Library Friends Foundation (APLFF) through a Dell Powering the Possible Youth Connect grant.

Five Senior High Youth Needed to Help With Military Youth Fishing Day

The 4-H Military Program is hosting a Military Fishing Camp. They are asking for senior high youth to volunteer and assist with this event, providing leadership to the youth in the sessions. This is a great leadership opportunity. Five volunteers are being requested.

"Support the Clover" - Silent Auction Bidding Is Now Open

The Texas 4-H Foundation is hosting the "Support the Clover" Silent Auction again this year.  May 1st, the auction opened up for online bidding.  You can view the auction at www.32auctions.com/supporttheclover . On Monday, June 10th at 11:59 pm the auction will convert to the live silent auction which will open at 1 pm on Tuesday, June 11th in conjunction with the Texas 4-H Roundup Trade Show.  Items will be on display along the concourse area of Reed Arena.  The live silent auction will open at the last online bid price.  Many items are being offered online with BUY IT NOW pricing as well.

4-H Recordbook Workday

For those who would like help with 4-H Recordbooks, add June 5th to your calendar. Cory will be available from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Extension Office to assist anyone who would like to stop by and get help and have questions answered. For those who may still be in school and unable to attend, you may email questions and pages to cmtalley@ag.tamu.edu for Cory to review and send back comments.

What: Aggie Horse Judging Camp
·        Placing instruction on halter and performance
·        Reasons Instruction on a personal and group basis

*New Format! Instruction for Beginner/Intermediate and Advanced.*

When: June 5-7, 2013 & June 26-28, 2013

Where: Texas A&M University; College Station, TX

Who: Youth ages 12-18

Fees: Entries due by: May 30, 2013
$290 per participant (includes meals, housing, judging manual, notebook and t-shirt)
Adults, coaches or parents may attend for the same fee. However additional chaperones may or may not be needed.
$260 per participant if commuting
