State Photography Contest Registration Open Tomorrow

Please see the following update regarding the State Photography Contest:

"Good afternoon colleagues,

Some have asked about the status of the Texas 4-H state photography contest, so I thought it best to send out an email with details.

Registration will continue as scheduled.  It will open on 4-H Connect April 1 and close on April 15.  The judging of the photos will not take place until mid-May, and awards will be distributed in June.  Due to the ongoing circumstances, we will adjust the timeline listed in the rules for approvals and payments to the following:

·       County Entry Approval Deadline:  April 29, 2020
·       Payment with a 4-H county or club check is due by May 15, 2020
o   (it is highly recommended to turn the “pay by check” option off so that you can minimize person-to-person contact during this time period).  Instructions on how to turn on/off that feature:  LINK
o   You will need to do this prior to April 1 for it to be in effect for youth as they begin to register.
o   To only accept credit card payments, leave the “Electronic Payments” box checked and uncheck the “County/Club Check” option.

As a reminder, counties may only enter 1 photo per category.  We understand that some counties may not have been able to have a qualifying contest to determine the photos that advance.  If that is your case, I have attached instructions on how you can view all photos your members enter so that you can have those evaluated locally before approving registrations in Connect.

If you have questions or need additional guidance, please let me know.

Take care,

Derrick Bruton, M.S.
