District 4-H Shooting Sports Coach Trainings

In addition to the six regional trainings offered by the State Office, 4-H districts are now hosting Shooting Sports Coach Trainings. These trainings feature the same training and certification and are open to volunteers state-wide. For more information about rules and requirements of coaches and information about coach training, please see the "Coach & Assistant Coach Training and Certification Information" document on the Shooting Sports website.

Host Families Needed for Japan and Greece Studnets This Summer

Texas 4-H is seeking partnerships with Families that want to share their home with a Japanese Ambassador this summer. 19 Japanese youth will visit Texas July 22 through August 18. Most have already been placed in homes in Dallas, Denton, Hunt, Blanco, Montgomery, Harris, Fort Bend, Bell, Parker, Collin and Bandera Counties - five boys, ages 12-13 are still needing families! Open your home to one of these youth and share your Texas culture with them as they share their Japanese heritage with you. There are no special requirements to participate, the youth are here for an immersion experience and want to be treated like one of yours. Contact Dr. Locke dlocke@ag.tamu.edu to receive a Host Family application and to schedule an interview.

2015 Texas 4-H Roundup

2015 TEXAS 4-H ROUNDUP REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! Roundup will be held June 9-11. We look forward to another wonderful year in College Station and hope that this information helps you through the registration process. Since this year's event allows youth to compete in more than one contest each day, we have also provided "worksheets" for you to utilize to ensure you get registered for the proper contests. Please note, intermediate youth will be able to see senior level contests in registration. Therefore, the worksheets are important to distinguish which contests  youth are eligible for. When looking at contest options in 4-H Connect you will see "QS=Qualifying Seniors" and "INV-IS= Invitational Intermediate & Seniors." This will also help you distinguish which contests your youth can compete in. Please also read the packet carefully as this year's events will have some fun and exciting changes! If you are interested in submitting photos, email Cory (Cory.hundl@ag.tamu.edu) the categories you want to enter and then upload your photos to 4-H Connect.  Entry is $10.00 per photo. Deadline to enter is Wednesday, April 15th.
