2018 Texas 4-H Veterinary Science Camps
We are excited to announce that we will be having two Texas 4-H
Veterinary Science Camps this summer. We are implementing an application
process through Qualtrics for the camps this year. Please have interested Texas
4-H members complete application that is due by 5:00 pm on April 19, 2018.
Texas A&M University: $175.00
West Texas A&M University: $175.00
Program Dates:
Texas A&M University: June 11-14, 2018
West Texas A&M University: July 23-25, 2018
Application is due by 5:00 pm on April 19, 2018
A selection committee will review the applications and accept 25
for each location
Applicants will be notified by May 1, 2018 regarding application
results
*Applicants will be notified if they are accepted/denied.
An application does not ensure entrance into the camp. The camp is
limited to 25 participants at each site.

2018 Brazos County Whiz Bang
It is time to get registered for the Brazos
County 4-H Whizbang. The shoot is held on Friday April 27-Saturday April
28th. They have novice and international events on Friday only. If
the shooter is shooting events on Friday they will also be scheduled for
sporting clays on Friday.

2018 Glen Rose 4-H Shooting Sports Club Indoor 3D Archery Invitational Tournament - 4/14/18
The Glen Rose 4-H Shooting Sports Club will be hosting their
annual indoor 3D Archery Invitational Tournament on April 14, 2018 at
the Somervell County Expo in Glen Rose, TX. Please see the flyer and

2018 Purple Up! for Military Kids
April marks the nation’s “Month of the Military Child,” a time to honor youth who have parents that serve in the military. In celebration, Texas Operation: Military Kids (OMK), part of the 4-H Youth Development program of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, invites you to join us for the annual “Purple Up! For Military Kids.”
We are encouraging everyone across the state of Texas to wear purple on Monday, April 13th, as a visible way to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices. Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, as it is the combination of Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red and Navy blue. OMK hopes everyone will take this opportunity to appreciate and celebrate these young heroes.

Texas 4-H Camp registration is in full swing! If you register
now and pay the $25 deposit we will hold your spot, the remaining balance isn’t
due until June 14th. There are still spots available in all
sessions, however some are nearing capacity, so register soon to ensure you

2018 Texas 4-H Dog Show Rulebook is now available!
The 2018 Texas 4-H Dog Show Rule Book is now
posted on the State 4-H website at https://texas4-h.tamu.edu/projects/dog-care-training/ and on the Travis County 4-H website at https://travis-tx.tamu.edu/4-h-programs/4-h-livestock-information/. Please note there are some proposed rule changes for 2019 in
addition to the current rules. Because there will be some significant
changes in some rules for 2019 we wanted to give you adequate time to prepare.
