2018 4-H Horse Validation - due 5/1/18

4-H Equine enthusiasts – it’s that time, again!!  The 2018 Horse Validation will take place via 4-H CONNECT from March 1^st to May 1^st. 

The cost for horse validation is $10 per horse from March 1^st through April 15^th, $20 per horse from April 16^th through May 1^st and we have added a late fee of $250 per horse from May 2^nd through May 5^th.  There will be absolutely no validations accepted after May 5^th. 

Those with registered horses to make sure that they apply for and receive any necessary transfer of ownership with the breed association.  The owner listed in 4-H Connect must match the owner of record on the horse’s registration papers, and appropriate relationship status selected between the horse owner and the 4-Her.  We are partnering with various breed associations to recognize those youth showing registered horses at the State 4-H Horse Show, and in order to be eligible for those breed awards the registration papers must be correct and uploaded to 4-H connect. 

We have several new additions to the State 4-H Horse Show this year, including a new class: Quad Drill; jackpots for speed, roping and ranch sorting events; and expanded scholarship opportunities including the Hi Pro feed incentive program.  We will be sharing more information about these events during the validation period to encourage 4-Hers in the horse project to validate and participate at the district and state horse shows.
