Cedar Park Rodeo - 4-H Fundraiser and Discounted Tickets

Travis County 4-H families and friends have the opportunity to take advantage of discounted tickets to attend the Cedar Park Rodeo  - June 22-24, 2012. For each ticket purchased with the flyer located here, $2.00 will be donated back to Travis County 4-H. Please pass this information to your friends and family.

Junior Leader Rally

An fun filled day for Junior and Intermediate age 4-H members. This will be held on  July 12th in Bandera and will be held in conjunction with District 10 Recordbook Judging. Great opportunity for the adults to judge and have a planned activity for the youth. For more information check out the links below.

Community Service Opportunities

Two Community Service Opportunities have been added to the travis4h.com website
District 10 Community Service  - due June 25th
Texas 4-H Roundup Community Service - due June 7th

4-H T-shirts Needed for State 4-H Roundup

The Texas 4-H State Council is looking for t-shirts to use in their t-shirt guns prior to the night assemblies at State 4-H Roundup. If you have any EXTRA 4-H shirts from events or your club and would like to donate them to the State 4-H Council, please bring those to the extension office by June 7th.  Please send only non worn shirts.

T-shirt Design Contest

Travis County 4-H is looking for a creative person to design a county wide t-shirt that can be purchased by any youth, adult volunteer or supporter of Travis County 4-H. For those interested send your design to Cory via email in a Jpeg format. A free t-shirt will be provided to the individual of the selected design. Get those creative brains thinking!!!

2013 Turkey Order

4-H youth who plan to exhibit turkeys at the Travis County Youth Show, San Antonio Livestock Show, Houston Livestock Show or the Star of Texas Show, orders are due to the Travis County Extension Office by July 3, 2012.

Food Challenge Workshop

Food Challenge is an exciting team oriented contest. It is a great way to learn about nutrition, show off your cooking skills and have fun with friends. To learn the ins and outs of this contest, join us on:

2:00 p.m.—5:00 p.m. @ the Travis County Extension Office.
Cost: $5.00 per 4-H member and $15 per non 4-H member.

Travis County 4-H and Youth Advisory Board


Applications are being accepted for the Travis County 4-H and Youth Advisory Board.

The board serves a strategic function by helping the County Extension Agents++ determine what programs should be implemented from year to year, reviewing the educational impacts of programs, determining how to reach new youth audiences, and helping decide whether task forces or coalitions are needed to address priority issues.

For those interested in serving in this capacity an application must be completed. Click here for the application and additional information. Applications are due June 29th and will be reviewed by the other youth agents in the office. Up to five (5) youth (current Travis County 4-H members) will be selected  to serve on the advisory board from a wide array portion of the county. Up to six (6) adults will be selected to serve on the board.

ABC' s Duets - Features Jennifer Nettles & Georgia 4-H Clovers and Company


Tune in to ABC's Duets at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, May 24 and watch 4-H alumna Jennifer Nettles, lead vocalist for Sugarland, performing with members of Georgia 4-H's Clovers and Company.

Duets sends famous recording artists on a journey across America to find talented individuals to serve as a protégé. Ultimately, each artist will choose two singers to be their duet partners, and together the artist and their protégé will perform in front of a live studio audience each week. The winning amateur will receive a recording contract with Hollywood Records. Nettles will be paired with another Georgia 4-H alum, John Glosson.

If your club would like to put together a scrapbook, listed below are a few items that should be included as you the club tells it’s story for the year. Scrapbooks are due to the Extension office by August 6, 2012. Be sure to include photos

·         Events /activities, unique programs, 
·         Explanations and captions are always good
