In memory of Conor Lynch on the day he would have turned 21, the Conor Lynch Memorial Scholarship ($1500) was created on August 19, 2015 to support a youth (ages 16-21) who has made a demonstrated positive impact on their community through service, mentorship and activism.
On October 19, 2010, while training with his high school cross-country team, Conor Lynch was killed by a distracted, unlicensed, hit-and-run driver. He was 16 years old. The woman who killed Conor was 18 years old.
NOYS has long focused on empowering youth to positively influence their peers about one of the biggest safety issues affecting their demographic: car crashes. NOYS is honored to partner with the Conor Lynch Foundation in awarding this scholarship. To apply, complete and submit the form below.
All applications must be submitted by October 1, 2015. Applications will be reviewed by a committee, with the winner selected by the Conor Lynch Foundation. Applicants must be between the ages of 16-21 on October 25, 2015, the date the awardee is announced. Questions may be directed to info [at] NOYS.org.
The scholarship winner will be publicly announced at the 5th Annual 5K Run/Walk and Expo In Honor of Conor (Van Nuys-Sherman Oaks Park, 14230 Magnolia Blvd., Sherman Oaks, CA 91423), as well as online at NOYS.org and inhonorofconor.org. Learn more about the Conor Lynch Foundation and register for the 5K Run/Walk.
