Although it is early, it is time to start planning for next summer. A request has been submitted for Travis County to attend County Camp in Brownwood, July 9-11, 2011. An adult volunteer leader will need to serve as a chaperone this year.
What is County Camp? County Camp allows counties to send youth who have completed grades 2-11 to camp at the 4-H Conference Center at one time. Whereas Prime Time is age specific, County Camp is for all ages. County groups are housed together in the dorms by gender. Activities include, crafts, swimming, dances, archery, games and more.
Who May Attend County Camp participants are defined as a youth who have completed 2nd through 11th grade. 4-H membership is not a requirement to participate in County Camp. Counties are responsible for providing adequate number of Adult Chaperones.
Cost for camp this year will be $175 per youth and $80 for adults.
