By clicking this link you will find
the guidelines for the 2013 Swine Skill-a-thon Guidelines. The attached document is
meant to be a guide for CEA’s, Volunteer Leaders, and Youth interested in the
Swine Skill-a-thon. Hopefully, this will ease some anxiety related to what the
skills stations might consist of, and what the impromptu topics might be
associated with the contest.
The guide indicates there will be four skills stations in the
contest, and gives eight possible topics that they could be related to. The
guide also limits the possible speech topics to three. Youth will have 15
minutest to prepare and 5 minutes to give their speech. A rubric for the speech
is also attached. This document will also be posted on the State 4-H Roundup
website.
This contest at Texas 4-H Roundup is open to youth who who are 11 years of age to 18 years of age as of August 31, 2012. Texas 4-H Roundup takes place in June on the Texas A&M University Campus.
If junior level members are interested in a possible county contest, please contact Cory. This would allow for any junior members to get a head start for the upcoming years to know and understand this contest.
