Alliance with Lonestar Silversmith

The Texas 4-H Foundation is excited to announce a new alliance with Lone Star Silversmith.

Lone Star Silversmith is a complete custom manufacturer of Rodeo and Custom Trophy buckles committed to detailed craftsmanship, quality materials, competitive pricing and excellent service. For those of you that attended 4-H Roundup, you had a chance to visit with this company in person within the Trade Show area. Following Roundup and many asking them if they had any 4-H type jewelry, they approached the Texas 4-H Program about seeking permission to create a line of 4-H jewelry using the official 4-H clover.

Lone Star Silversmith has designed a 4-H jewelry collection set which includes a ring, pendant, bangle bracelet, and earrings. Lone Star Silversmith has created this line of 4-H jewelry items that can be sold/ordered directly through Lone Star Silversmith and sold exclusively within the state of Texas. A royalty of 10% will be donated to the Texas 4-H Foundation to be used to support the efforts of Texas 4-H.

Watch the Texas 4-H Foundation website for more details at www.texas4hfoundation.org. You can visit the Lone Star Silversmith website to see samples of their current works. http://www.lonestarsilversmith.com. The 4-H line of jewelry will be released the week of December 1st. First debut of the 4-H items will be on the "Lone Star Collection" Facebook page, so be sure and LIKE their page.

Lets Say Thanks - Service Opportunity

XEROX IS DOING SOMETHING COOL If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services. How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a second. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our soldiers over there need to know we are behind them. This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you. Please take the time and please take the time to pass it on for others to do. We can never say enough thank you's. Thanks for taking to time to support our military!

Tractor Supply Clover Card

The TSC Clover Card is a great way to celebrate the new partnership between Tractor Supply and 4-H! Each use of the card shows TSC the value of 4-H customers and, more importantly, enters your 4-H club for chance to receive gift cards from Tractor Supply.

Each month, TSC will randomly select five transactions made with the Clover Card. The local club associated with each of those cards will receive a $500 Tractor Supply Gift Card. Remember, each swipe of the card gives your club a better chance to win gift cards from TSC!

The TSC Clover Card offers special deals to those in the 4-H community — parents, guardians, volunteers and leaders — and provides chances to win TSC gift cards for their club.
Sign up deadline for the card is November 21, 2010.

Who is eligible for the TSC Clover Card?
4-H members, 4-H parents or guardians, volunteers, club leaders, and 4-H staff are eligible for the card. However, there can only be one card per household. TSC team members, store managers, vendors, and respective immediate family members are not eligible to sign up for a card. See the “Complete Rules” online at www.tractorsupply.com/4-H for details.

How do I get a TSC Clover Card?
The only way to sign up for the TSC Clover Card is via Tractor Supply Company’s 4-H mini-website, found at www.tractorsupply.com/4-H. Only a parent/guardian can sign up for the card if the 4-H member is under 18 years of age.

What are the benefits of signing up for the card?
By signing up, you will receive a 10% off coupon that comes along with the card. TSC will send you specials and promotions via email that are available only for cardholders. The TSC Clover Card will offer special deals to those in the 4-H community — youth, parents, guardians, volunteers, club leaders, staff — and provides chances for 4-Hers to win a TSC gift card for their club. By using their TSC Clover Card with every purchase, 4-Hers are entering their club into a monthly drawing for a $500 TSC gift card. There will be five (5) $500 gift cards awarded to clubs every month until June 2011.

How long do I have to sign up for the card and once I sign up, when will I receive it?
Enrollment for the pilot program runs through November 21, 2010. Cards will receive 2-4 weeks after the online card form has been completed.

How long is the card valid?
This pilot card program will expire on June 30, 2011.

Does every 4-Her in my family need to sign up for a card?
No, one registration per household is all that is needed. When you register for the TSC Clover Card you will receive 2 cards for your family to use. Anyone who is active in 4-H is eligible for this card.

Can I use my card for on-line purchases with TSC?
No, currently the cards are only for in-store purchases.

2010 4-H Billboards Across Texas

The Texas 4-H and Youth Development Program has been given the opportunity to share the purpose of 4-H through a partnership with LAMAR Advertising during the 2010 National 4-H Week.

LAMAR advertising has donated 100 billboards throughout the state of Texas and their coverage area to feature the five different Billboard designs on the bottom of this page. Texas 4-H only has to pay for the printing of the signs. Therefore, we need help in spreading the word of 4-H in Texas!

We are in need of 100 donors that would like to be part of the "2010 4-H Billboards Across Texas" campaign. Each billboard will cost $135.00 and can be sponsored by a 4-H Family, a business, a 4-H Club, a County 4-H Council, 4-H Adult Leaders, or a Friend of 4-H. The estimated value of this billboard campaign is more than $100,000.00 so this is a great opportunity for us to market the Power of 4-H all across Texas!

The billboards will start going up the 2nd/3rd week of September and stay up through National 4-H Week scheduled for October 3-9, 2010. Since the billboard locations are based on availability at the time of the event it is difficult to know if one will be located close.

All donors to the project will be listed as an official donor to the 2010 National 4-H Week Campaign and have their family/business name listed on the Texas 4-H and Youth Development website. A sponsorship form can be found at travis4h.com under the tab "4-H Forms"
