2017 Texas 4-H Food Show Theme

 This year’s theme is “Family Favorites”. 

The Texas 4-H Healthy Lifestyle Ambassadors, as well as the state food show committee, has assisted in selecting this theme.  We believe it will be one that is fun and educational.  The 4-H Food Show packet will be released September 1, and will contain resources to assist in teaching to the theme.  In addition, the rules and guidelines will be in this packet for all seniors participating at the state level.    

“Family Favorites” can be any dish that families enjoy made in a more healthy way.  The theme could also be used to teach the importance of family meal times.  Some 4-H members might consider their family heritage and focus on a dish that represents this.  Obviously, there are many ways to have fun and creative with this theme!

One Day 4-H T-Shirts

T-SHIRTS

The 2016 One Day 4-H event will officially take place on Saturday, October 8th.  Once again, the event is being sponsored state-wide by TransCanada.  Their sponsorship goes to help provide t-shirts for a minimum cost to the participants.  This year the t-shirts feature a new logo and can be purchased through the Texas A&M AgriLife Bookstore (http://www.agrilifebookstore.org – in search box type “One Day”).  All shirts are $6.00 per shirt and shipping is free!   In order to have all the t-shirts in the hands of the 4-H members/adults/groups by Saturday, October 1st when some projects will be occurring we have set the deadline for t-shirt orders as September 9th.  This date allows for all orders to be processed, t-shirts printed and mailed.  Please help us in promoting the t-shirts and encouraging early ordering.

This document contains basic information for each event (location, date, registration dates, late registration where applicable, and cost). We highly recommend online use of this document as updates and additions are made frequently.

Please take special notice of events coming early in the new 4-H year, specifically Shooting Sports Coach Trainings, and encourage participants to enroll/re-enroll quickly via 4H Connect so that process can be completed in time to make the event registration deadline.
