D-10 Volunteer Leaders Association on Facebook

District 10 VLAT Facebook Group Now Active!
The District 10 Volunteer Leaders Association has established a group on Facebook to provide an opportunity for volunteers to network, receive information, and more! This strategy is being done to strengthen the core of our volunteer base and make sure that we are on the cutting edge! To join the group, you must have a Facebook account! Once that is in place, do a search for this group: District 10 4-H Volunteer Connect. When the page comes up, click on the button "Join The Group." You will then receive updates on your wall when any new information is posted! Not only can you review information posted by others, but if you have a great idea, a wonderful resource or lesson, or 4-H activity you want to promote that would benefit others in District 10, you can post to the page! Let's get some dialogue going and work together "To Make The Best Better" in District 10!

Tractor Supply Clover Card

The TSC Clover Card is a great way to celebrate the new partnership between Tractor Supply and 4-H! Each use of the card shows TSC the value of 4-H customers and, more importantly, enters your 4-H club for chance to receive gift cards from Tractor Supply.

Each month, TSC will randomly select five transactions made with the Clover Card. The local club associated with each of those cards will receive a $500 Tractor Supply Gift Card. Remember, each swipe of the card gives your club a better chance to win gift cards from TSC!

The TSC Clover Card offers special deals to those in the 4-H community — parents, guardians, volunteers and leaders — and provides chances to win TSC gift cards for their club.
Sign up deadline for the card is November 21, 2010.

Who is eligible for the TSC Clover Card?
4-H members, 4-H parents or guardians, volunteers, club leaders, and 4-H staff are eligible for the card. However, there can only be one card per household. TSC team members, store managers, vendors, and respective immediate family members are not eligible to sign up for a card. See the “Complete Rules” online at www.tractorsupply.com/4-H for details.

How do I get a TSC Clover Card?
The only way to sign up for the TSC Clover Card is via Tractor Supply Company’s 4-H mini-website, found at www.tractorsupply.com/4-H. Only a parent/guardian can sign up for the card if the 4-H member is under 18 years of age.

What are the benefits of signing up for the card?
By signing up, you will receive a 10% off coupon that comes along with the card. TSC will send you specials and promotions via email that are available only for cardholders. The TSC Clover Card will offer special deals to those in the 4-H community — youth, parents, guardians, volunteers, club leaders, staff — and provides chances for 4-Hers to win a TSC gift card for their club. By using their TSC Clover Card with every purchase, 4-Hers are entering their club into a monthly drawing for a $500 TSC gift card. There will be five (5) $500 gift cards awarded to clubs every month until June 2011.

How long do I have to sign up for the card and once I sign up, when will I receive it?
Enrollment for the pilot program runs through November 21, 2010. Cards will receive 2-4 weeks after the online card form has been completed.

How long is the card valid?
This pilot card program will expire on June 30, 2011.

Does every 4-Her in my family need to sign up for a card?
No, one registration per household is all that is needed. When you register for the TSC Clover Card you will receive 2 cards for your family to use. Anyone who is active in 4-H is eligible for this card.

Can I use my card for on-line purchases with TSC?
No, currently the cards are only for in-store purchases.

We Got Your Back - Service Project

The Texas 4-H Healthy Lifestyles Advisory Board is sponsoring a state-wide community service project for the 2010-2011 4-H year. "We've Got Your Back" is a project that any 4-H club or group can get involved in! 4-H members collect gently used backpacks and/or purses, along with non-perishable food items and basic necessities, such as toiletries. The backpacks are then filled with the food items and toiletries and distributed to people in your local community! 4-H members are then encouraged to report online the number of backpacks and other items collected. For more information, a promotional flyer and a link to the online report, visit the healthy lifestyles program page on the Texas 4-H Website: http://texas4-h.tamu.edu.

If a youth member would like to take the lead on this project for the county, please contact Cory at cmtalley@ag.tamu.edu
