JUNIORS/INTERMEDIATES - Grades 3-8
Travis County will be hosting a Junior/Intermediate Recordbook Overview for 4-H members in grades 3-8 on Monday, January 28th, as the educational program of our County Council Meeting. The Council meeting will start at 6:30 PM with the recordbook informational starting at 7 PM. The workshop will be held at the Travis County Extension Office at 1600-B Smith Road.

2nd Annual New Year Bash

County! They will be hosting the 2nd Annual New Year Bash at the Ellis County Expo
Center on January 5th-6th. Market Sheep and Goats will show on Saturday. Dairy
Goats and Swine will show on Sunday. There will be project clinics hosted on
Friday night for sheep and goats, Saturday night for swine, and Sunday morning

December 7, 2018 - TCYS POULTRY PICK-UPS
- TCYS poultry pick-ups will take place at the Manor High School Ag Barn on Friday, December 7, 2018, from about 3 PM to 7 PM.
- NEW LOCATION: 12900 Gregg Manor Rd; Manor (ag barns are located behind Manor Middle School)
- Please remember to bring your own boxes for transportation. TCYS representatives will be there and will write down wing band numbers for our reference.
December 15, 2018 - TCYS RABBIT VALIDATION
- TCYS Rabbit Validation will take place on Saturday, December 15th starting at 8:30 AM Hendrickson High School Ag rooms
- High School Address: 19201 Colorado Sand Dr, Pflugerville
- Go to the back of the High School. Look for the greenhouse, the Ag Class Rooms are in the building right by the greenhouse.
REMEMBER:
- Please bring your own blankets for your rabbit entries.
- The only paperwork you need to bring filled out with your project is the TCYS Liability Waiver found at this link

REMINDER: 2019 San Antonio School Tour Guide Sign-Ups - DUE 12/5 at NOON
We have received the dates for youth in grades 9-12 to serve as a school tour guide at the San Antonio show. Youth will need to commit their entire day from 7:45 AM to 2:30 PM to serving in this leadership role and must be academically eligible to be excused from school in February.
Youth must register for their day of choice by noon on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. Once you sign up, you are fully committed to that date, so be sure to triple check your schedule before signing up.

FFA Holly Jolly Christmas Spectacular
Saturday Dec 1, is the Weiss FFA Holly Jolly Christmas Spectacular. At the Hamann Agricultural Facility in front of
Cele Middle School. 5800 Cele Rd. Pflugerville, TX 78660.
Check-in for Lambs and Goats will be 7 – 8:30 A.M. Goats
will show first followed by Lambs. Show starts at 9.
Ribbons and Banners will be awarded. Following the Lamb and
Goat Show there will be a Costume Contest for a belt buckle. Costume contest
consists of animal and exhibitor. (Costume Contest is between all Lamb and Goat
raisers)
Check-in for Steers and Heifers will be 12:30 – 2:00 P.M.
Steers will show first followed by Heifers. Show starts at 2:30P.M. Ribbons and
Banners will be awarded. Following the Steer and Heifer Show there will be a
Costume Contest for a belt buckle. Costume contest consists of animal and
exhibitor. (Costume Contest is between all Steer and Heifer raisers)

No entry may contain perishable foods such as milk, meringue, eggs, custard, pudding, cream cheese, whipped cream, butter, canned fruit or fresh fruit without it being baked/cooked into the entry.
If recipe is disqualified:
The exhibitor will have 5 business days to resubmit a recipe for approval after notification from TCYS Recipe Approval Committee email explaining issues with recipe. Recipe may only be re-submitted once, if disqualified. All recipes must be preapproved in order to compete in the 2018 TCYS Youth Fair.
Exhibitor will receive a reply via email if the recipe is approved. The approved recipe will have a TCYS watermark on it. Please print out this attachment, with the watermark for check in. Entries without this approval will not be accepted at Check in. TCYS WILL NOT resend recipes after December 15, 2018.

REMINDER: Senior Recordbook Informational 11/29/18
SENIORS - Grades 9-12
Travis County will be hosting a Senior 4-H Recordbook Overview for 4-H members in grades 9-12 on Thursday, November 29, 2018, starting at 6:30 PM and lasting approximately 1.5 hours. We will be going over the changes to the senior recordbook forms, as well as some tips and tricks for completing sections and keeping track of things! The workshop will be held at the Travis County Extension Office at 1600-B Smith Road.

Grayson County 4-H GEAR Bot Challenge - 12/22/18
The Green Clovers 4-H Club from Grayson County is inviting all robot enthusiasts to come show their skills in the 2018 G.E.A.R. Challenge - Wild Things. This is one of the final opportunities for robotics teams to try to master these challenges. This contest will consist of Match Play and Technical Interviews ONLY - No Presentations.
