NAMI Walk - September 26th
Each year, Travis County 4-H volunteers to provide the dog watering
stations for the walkers/runners who like to bring their pets out to the
NAMI Walk. It is always greatly appreciated and would like to continue
that this year. I would like to throw out the opportunity for a youth
and adult volunteer to take on the leadership for this event?

Registration: 8:00 a.m.
Free parking at One Texas Center
Paid parking ($8) at Palmer Garage

- Take water bowls out the morning of the event by 7:45 am
- Supervise 4-H youth at the event to ensure they are filling the water bowls
- Station a few bowls at the capitol as that is the mid way point of the walk
- Event ends around 10:30 - 11:00 am
- Pick up bowls to return to Cory\

Travis County Youth Show Opportunities
As we being the new 4-H year, it is time to start gearing up
for some of the county show contests and activities. The rule book can be found
at the following link: http://traviscountyyouthshow.org/
Jr. Superintendent and Queen’s Court – Both of these
opportunities are now listed under one event called leadership contests and the
application has been streamlined as one application with a check box for what
an individual is applying for. The Applications must be postmarked by September
5th and the interview date is Saturday, September 19th.
For those who want to enter the plant division, all plants
must be ordered through TCYS and orders are due to the extension office
by September 29th.

TCYS Ledadership Contests for 2016 - Queen's Court and Jr. Superintendents
This is for the Jr. Superintendents and Queen's Court. There is a single application process this year for the two contests. For those interested in applying, the application can be found at the link below on the bottom of the page:

D-2 Shooting Sports Caoch Training
District 2 will be hosting a Shooting Sports Coaches Training
for Archery, Rifle, Pistol, and Shotgun in Seminole on October 10-11th,
2015.
This training
is open to all potential coaches across the state.
Registration
will be done through 4-H Connect: Registrations will open on September 19, 2015
and closes on October 5, 2015. Late Registration will be accepted
on October Please pay close attention to the deadline!
Cost is $100.
Registration will cover 2 meals and course materials.
Late
Registration will be $125
Participants
MUST have completed and passed the Background Check PRIOR to registering for
the event, so if they have not completed this, they should do so IMMEDIATELY!
